Body Mount Hole Rust Repair

Of the 12 body mounting holes 6 had moderate to severe rust damage. some of the holes had lost about an inch of steel around the hole. To make the repair I designed a large washer shaped piece and had my local fab shop make them. The repair washers were CNC plasma cut out of #10 steel.

Bolt The Repair Washers Into Place

The original holes had a 3/8″ hole at the side of the large hole. This made it easy to bolt them into place.

Weld The Repair Washers To The Frame

As you weld the washers into place remove the bolts and weld the repairs flat to the surface.

Grind The Welds Flat

Grind the welds flat with the frame and clean up the holes with a die grinder.

Paint The Finished Repair With POR-15

Paint the repair and you are ready to bolt the body back onto the frame
