Plastic Repair Tips Reminder: When using a power sander, remember to stop periodically to allow the surface to cool down.
When sanding, prior to painting:
GRIT | DESCRIPTION |
40 – 80 | Rough sanding/grinding before starting repair; do not use on areas to be painted |
180 | Initial sanding of resin will leave fine scratches |
320 | Rough sanding/grinding before starting repair; do not use on areas to be painted |
400 | Initial sanding of primer |
600 | Final sanding of primer prior to applying base coat colors |
1000 | Wet sanding prior to applying clear coat |
1500 | Final sanding of clear coat |
2000 | Final wet sanding of finished paint prior to hand polishing |
Shelf Life
When you are finished with your repair, put the white seal cap on and set the applicator tip aside. In a couple of days, the resin in the spout will cure and can be easily removed. Keeping the bottle in a refrigerator will extend the shelf life.
Spot Putty
Motorcycle Windshields
Clean with mild soapy water and a soft cloth. Any ammonia-based product (Windex) will turn the windshield foggy. Minor scratches and blemishes can be buffed out.
Rapid Remover
Rapid Remover provides a quick solution to quickly removes any kind of glue residue from tape, vinyl graphics, stickers, silicone, or most sticky materials. It will clean surfaces without causing damage to painted or bare metal surfaces due to its’ non-toxic properties. It is water soluble and non-toxic.
