Ron Harker bought his first motorcycle when he was 13 years old. Over the course of the next 52 years he has never been without a motorcycle. He has tried everything available to repair damaged fairings during those 52 years and nothing worked well. In 1990 Ron repaired a 1983 Honda Goldwing. Using parts of 3 fairings and a hot air plastic welder he got the Goldwing back on the road. Within the first year the fairing began to crack next to the welds, the heat stressed the plastic which caused the cracking. So he began looking into other solutions. In 2004 Ron came up with a method of making a liquid ABS resin. After much experimentation, Fairing Repair was finally ready. Quarical Easy ABS Repair is a single part ABS Repair resin designed to permanently repair any ABS plastic. Other 2 part “epoxy” type products will not penetrate into the ABS but sit on the surface. These epoxy type products expand, contract, and flex differently than the ABS plastic they are trying to repair and in the end they will ALL fail. Quarical Easy ABS Repair unlike the others is made of ABS plastic and becomes part of what you are repairing. The resin is very thick (about like a heavy Greek yogurt) and contains 50% ABS solids. As the solvents evaporate the new ABS is welded into the existing ABS being repaired. The cured product is hard, shiny, and welded permanently into the repair.
